Synaesthetic_Tapes 01 / The Orielles - Concrete Isolation

SYNAESTHTIC TAPES 01 ORIELLES 3.jpg

Finding inspiration in isolation, The Orielles’ Sidonie B Hand-Halford selected an eclectic and evocative playlist for Synaesthetic Magazine blending jazz, ambient and experimental jams, from Liverpool to Ethiopia and back.

The Playlist shows how beauty and creativity can be achieved even when things look tough from the outside. Just like béton brut, the raw concrete that starting from housing needs turned into an estimated architectural movement, proving that harmony can be found in harshness.

The photo series that accompanies the playlist sees The Orielles captured in a Bristol brutalist scenario, where the black and white film grain compliments the building’s concrete texture.

The Orielles sophomore album Disco Volador, the band’s own samba and disco-infused space odyssey, is out now on Heavenly Recordings.
